A Birthday Celebration, A Night Alone, 13 Years, and Mom

Whew. I hate it when I intend to post but I get so far behind that it seems daunting. So much went on this last weekend...and it's already Wednesday! Friday night we went to Traci & Bud's to celebrate Brendan (10/8) and Brad's (10/11) birthdays, and this year, Traci threw Nick's into the celebration too (9/24). Saturday Kyle and I took the girls and Cory down to the Putnam's for an overnight stay. Thank you SO much Miss Kristin for keeping them. Kris has no girlies, so she enjoyed (at least she SAYS she did!) their estrogen (i.e. drama, whining, and such), and Cory and Kraig are like best friends when they get together.

We left Hillsdale and headed for Vandercook where we dropped off Nick and Zach at Grandma and Grandpa Bunkers. Again, Thank you SO much Gramps and Gram for keeping those two. They get along pretty well when it's just the two of them, and don't usually get into too much trouble. They went to church with Gram on Sunday, and when Zach got home he told me, "Mom, Sunday SCHOOL wasn't even hard!" My mom was also at church, and she said that Nick prayed like a big man and they both offered greetings of peace to everyone. So sweet those two!

Kyle went hunting and I dropped Brad off at a friends house for a birthday sleepover. Brad has had quite a social calendar...3 of the last 4 Saturday's he's been at a sleepover for someone and the one Saturday he wasn't was because it was HIS birthday get together. Geez kid! Anyway, after dropping Brad off I managed to scrap and hang out BY MYSELF...It was tough, but I managed!!

Sunday wasn't too eventful, but Monday was our 13th wedding anniversary! Holy smokes where does the time go. Kelsey came and watched the kids, and thankfully Kandi picked Cory up from 6th grade football practice and brought him home for us. Thanks again for that Kandi! We went and saw "The Departed". It was AWESOME! I loved it! Totally jaw dropping...a little loud, violent, vulgar, etc., but all in all, so good!

So that's what we've been up to. Just busy all the time these days. I'm looking forward to the weekend...Nick and Kaila are staying with Bob and Alice, and the 4 of them are going over to see Susan on one of the days. So it'll be just our 4 home this weekend. Kyle has a conference in Kalamazoo next week, so it'll be just me and the 6 kids...wish me luck :)

Finally Mom had neck surgery yesterday. I didn't even get to go up to the hospital. That bugs me, but that is the way things are! I didn't think she'd want me to bring six kids up to jump on her bed after having her neck operated on. Yeah, probably not. I'm going to go up on my lunch hour though. She came through the surgery A-OK according to Rex.

Hope all of you have a great hump day!!!

Glad to hear you had a relaxing weekend and anniversary. I DID enjoy the girls and all of the "drama". It's ok when you just have to deal with it in small chunks.
