Weekend Balance

I love weekends, but sometimes, they are so crammed with work that it makes it hard to enjoy them. Enter the campground. I love going out to the campground because the work is minimal, and I am FORCED to relax. This weekend was the first that was as a family stayed the night. Nick and Kaila were at Bob's, so it was just our family of 6. At one point, I was sitting on the deck reading, soaking up some sun (through a sweatshirt and capris...it was a little chilly still!), and took a moment to soak in what was around me. Madi was playing with her Fisher Price people stuff at the table outdoors. Zachary was playing with Power Rangers and Star Wars guys at the other end of the trailer, near the sandbox. Both were chattering away, having conversations for or with their play things. One or the other occasionally would sing a little song. Cory and Brad were gone playing basketball, dodgeball, or catching fish and turtles and frogs with the other boys from our area of the campground. It was so nice to have them doing something that didn't involve fighting. Or the TV. Or a video game. Or for that matter anything electronic. Madi and Zach were creatively playing. The other two were physically playing. I was practicing my "sit on butt and don't move a muscle" move. And that, my friends, is why I love going to the campground :o)

Remember it's your "little slice of heaven" and treasure those golden moments!!

I'm glad you revisited your "sit on butt" mode ... we ALL need to do that more often!

Here's to a beautiful week-end with plenty of sunshine! Thanks to God!!

I wish I could have been in the chair next to you...but I was locked at Gier doing Heat sheets for 7 hours today. I'm glad you got a little R & R. Love that campground...has a homey feeling.

It sounds like everyone had a little (much needed) R and R. That is what weekends should be for...not for how many loads of laundry you can push through a machine. Have a great week. ssh
