I hate thinking of titles...

Met my Grandma Sharp for lunch today...very cool! She told me that my dad once said "Mom, when I grow up, I'm gonna be like Johnny Bench and buy you anything you want." AWWW! She said he was about Zachary's age. My kids have made similar comments before, but hearing that my dad said it was so cool!

Tonight Kyle worked late doing interviews for the AD position at school, so I picked up my kids, picked up Nick and Kaila, and headed out to the Bunker's to wish my Gramps a happy 84th birthday! Whew...EIGHTY FOUR!? He is such an awesome Grandpa.


Things I remember about growing up with Grandpa:

• Making starter pots for plants out of tar paper
• Going to Clark Equipment to pick him up from work with Gram and then heading out camping!
• Going for rides and deciding whether we liked white houses with yellow shutters or yellow houses with white shutters.
• Him singing "Beth Marie fell in the sea...got her feet wet in a cup of tea."
• He always has pens in his pocket
• He is a total jokester and always made up songs
• He had a backyard that looked like a park
• He constantly had "projects" going on
• Planting gardens and him telling me I was planting the corn upside down

These may not seem like anything important or funny to anyone else, but to me they make me smile like crazy.
