Visiting Momma

Tonight Mom and I took Nick and Kaila to see Susan. The kids were FIRED UP! They were almost out of control on the way over, meaning they would not shut up, they would not sit back, and Kaila Sue was a little defiant even. We visited for about an hour and a half, with the kids mauling her and taking turns swigging out of the Cherry Coke we bought her. They were sure happy to see their momma. When it was time to leave the tears came on, but we had Kaila laughing by the time we were in the hallway. I know it was hard for Susan to see them leaving to go "home" with me. It was hard for me to feel like I should discipline or mother, and not want to step on her toes. I just did what seemed right, and hoped that I didn't hurt her feelings. All in all it was a good visit! Kaila was sound asleep in the back seat before we ever got back on the highway!

Also tonight I made this birthday "card" for my friend Chuck at work. He is an awesome co-worker, we work always as a team, and usually anticipate what the other needs. He has a sense of humor similar to mine, and he, along with Roni and Lisa, makes for a fun day at work. If one of the 4 of us is crabby, usually the others can manage to cheer that person up or at least get them laughing. I'm blessed to have a great job and wonderful co-workers! By the way, this is an altered Altoid tin, which he is known to always have on his desk!

I'm glad you guys had a good visit with Susan.

I like the tin idea, even better that Chuck actually is known for eating Altoids. Very cool! (your tin, not the fact that he eats Altoids)

I'm sure your sister appreciated you bringing the kids. It was good for the kids too. You are doing exactly what you need to be...don't ever think what your doing is wrong!
