We Made It!

Well, we made it home! We took off about 8:30 on Thursday morning, stopped numerous times for the many bladders in the vehicle, stopped for lunch at Shoney's, stopped just before Dundee for 1/2 hour while firemen cleaned up a vehicle on FIRE, and still made it home by 10:00 PM! The kids were really very good again...other than someone needing to go potty everytime we got BACK in the vehicle and down the road about 20 minutes!

Today I went grocery shopping with Cory. I took him with me because we were out of everything. We weren't even half way through the store when I sent him for a second cart. Needless to say, $400 and an hour and a half later we were home with FULL cupboards and fridge.

This afternoon I've been making desserts for our family gathering tonight with Mom and Rex. I made white/almond cupcakes that I'm slicing in half and filling with strawberries and whipped cream. I'm also making pound cake topped with a ricotta type italian cheese, apricot preserves, and almonds. They both have the house smelling fabulous. I just put a lasagna in the oven too. We are having an italian feast tonight! I'm looking forward to this much more relaxed pace for Christmas tonight. Everyone is so much more low key, especially after our incredibly relaxing trip to South Carolina! Thanks again for that Dad and Susan!!!
