Off and Running!
This morning I'm off and running. I have to start and finish two scrapbooking projects. I need to keep working on laundry so I can pack us for SC today. I bought a gingerbread pre-baked house kit that I'm going to do with the kids this afternoon. Hmmm...I think that's it! We are going to Traci's tonight to celebrate Christmas with Aunt Connie. That will be easy and low-key though - we're just ordering pizza!
So, Mom and I went to see Susan last night, and had a GREAT visit. She had her hair pulled back and neither of us knew it was her until she freakin' waved! She sounds good! Jill and I ordered her a couple of books for Christmas so she had gotten those. Dad and I sent some cash for her account, and she'd gotten that. She got the TV that Bobby bought for her. Mom and I were saying initially that it didn't seem like she would NEED a TV, but we're both glad she has it. It brings a little more comfort to an uncomfortable situation. Besides, the other night she watched "A Very Brady Christmas"!! :) I put money on our phone account and told her that she could call on Christmas Eve to talk to the kids for a bit and to Bobby, who showed up at our house yesterday for the first time in two months. I was so happy to see the kids. They both looked good, but mentioned several times that they miss their mommy! They are coming for Christmas Eve, so that's great. Anyway, tonight Dad is going to see her, and on Sunday Alice (bless her heart!!) is going to take the kids over to see their momma!! :) I feel so good about that. We have to drive past the correctional facility on our way to SC, so that was kind of bothering me, thinking she'd be alone, but after they all have dinner they are heading over so the kids can see her. Then I think Mom is taking my car while we're in SC one night next week and driving over to see her again! I'm so glad we're all making extra efforts to visit her. I know she treasures and appreciates each visit, and the little bit of normalcy that they bring.
Well, I better get to work!!!
