Have You Ever Been SOOO Busy?
Have you ever been so busy that you don’t feel like you even have time to think about what to do next? That would be me! I am stressing out big time! Tonight I need to get ready to go scrapping tomorrow. Now I know, I don’t have to go, but I NEED to go!! And that means figuring out what I’m going to work on, collecting the supplies I’ll need to work with, and hauling it to the car. Meanwhile, I have a trunk full of Christmas gifts that need to be wrapped so I can actually USE my trunk again. Last night I got groceries and had to pile them in the back and front seats! Anyway, tonight I also need to make Cory’s invitations to his small birthday party sleepover we’re planning for next Friday. And finally, I really want to get some ornaments finished that Brad and Zach helped make by doing all the painting. UGH! And that’s just tonight!
Fortunately, the weekend is looking pretty calm. Cory and Brad have basketball games on Saturday morning. Then I’m planning a major cleaning of Cory’s bedroom to make room for Zachary. I also need to go through my clothes and get Kyle to go through all of his so that we can empty out our dresser in the hall to make room for Nick and Kaila. A lot of shuffling, but at the same time, we’ll be getting rid of stuff that we just don’t wear and that is taking up a ton of room in a house that seems to be forever shrinking!
Christmas shopping – well, our kids are finished – and that seems to be the most daunting task for me! I still have nieces and nephews, and a few others to do, but I can handle that next week! Now like I said, the entire trunk is stuffed with everything I’ve bought for the kids, because we have NO WHERE in this house to hide things! My plan is to lock the kids upstairs Saturday evening and tell them that if they come downstairs, they will lose whatever I have out. Otherwise, I can just imagine the “Peeping Tom’s” in my glass dining room door or the keyhole of our big sliding door between the hall and the living room, trying to sneak a peek of what Mama has to wrap!
In all this chaos and madness, I hope you’re all taking a few minutes out of your busy days to enjoy the season, the lights, the love, the hope, the joy. Even the smallest moment will make it all worth it!! Like my baby girl, who woke up at 4:00 AM, crawled into bed, and said, “Mama, do you like the snow? Do you think it’s pretty?” Awww!
